Voice of Wesleyan Radio (VOWR) station.
This early photo shows the interior of the VOWR studio in St. John's, Newfoundland.
The microphone and piano seen here were used to create sound to accompany many early
program broadcasts. VOWR radio station was started in 1927, sponsored by the Wesley
United Church. It is still on the air today. The volunteer staff provides a wide range
of entertainment, information and church services to their listeners.
