RCN Hospital at St. John's, 27 December 1942
War helped advance health-care services in Newfoundland and Labrador. British, French, American, and Canadian forces all established military hospitals here between the 18th and mid-20th centuries. Pictured above is Leading Seaman H.H. Nicolle, a victim of the Knights of Columbus Hostel fire, at the St. John's Royal Canadian Navy Hospital.
