Baine Johnson and Co. St. John's premises, n.d.
Scottish merchants established premises on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula during the 19th century to become involved in the provisions and fishery supply trades. Prominent Scottish firms included Baine Johnston and Company, John Munn and Company, and Walter Grieve and Company.
