Churchill Park Map

Churchill Park Map
The area outlined in red was expropriated by the St. John's Housing Corporation for the creation of Churchill Park. Although today “Churchill Park” is often thought of as the area around Churchill Square, the map demonstrates that the original “Churchill Park” was much larger, and in fact nearly doubled the size of St. John's in 1944. Today the area contains middle-class housing neighborhoods, public housing developments, and commercial space. Most of Memorial University's St. John's campus is also located on land expropriated by the SJHC.
