Watercolour of Heart's Content, August 1866
Heart's Content, NL served as a terminus for the world's first submarine transatlantic telegraph cable. This watercolour, by Robert Dudley, depicts Heart's Content Bay as seen from the cable boat Great Eastern, which laid the submarine cable from Ireland to Newfoundland in July 1866.
