Newfoundland and Labrador enlistees, ca. 1940
Joseph Kearney (left) and John Pike, two soldiers from Newfoundland and Labrador who joined the Royal Artillery during the Second World War. Kearney served with the 57th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment before volunteering in August 1940 for an elite commando service which conducted small-scale raids behind enemy lines.
