Mosquito Aircraft, ca. 1944
Unidentified workmen tend to a mosquito plane on an aircraft runway. During the Second World War, pilots with the Royal Air Force’s No. 125 (Newfoundland) Squadron initially flew the Defiant Mark I, a two-seater fighter plane which carried a gunner in the rear, but later converted to radar-equipped Beaufighters and Mosquitos.
