Home swept out to sea, ca. November 1929

A tsunami swept this Port au Bras house out to sea when it struck Newfoundland’s Burin Peninsula on 18 November 1929. The house belonged to Steven Henry Isaacs and was found floating about two kilometres southeast of the Port au Bras inlet. Isaacs towed the house back to shore and it was eventually restored to its original location.
