Fannie McNeil was a leading member of the Newfoundland and Labrador suffragist movement. She was one of the country's first women to run for political office during a 1925 municipal election, but failed to win a seat on St. John's city council. Shown here are Fannie McNeil, her husband Hector, and daughters Betty and Margaret.
