RCAF Station Goose Bay
RCAF Station Goose Bay, ca. 1943

By 1943, the airfield at Goose Bay had become the largest in the Western Hemisphere. It helped transport men and cargo to Britain and also played a major role in the ferrying of combat planes to and from Europe.
