Newfoundland Rangers, ca. 1935-1950
The Commission of Government created the Newfoundland Ranger Force in 1935 to provide government services in isolated and northern parts of the country. Prior to the unit’s formation, no police force existed in rural Newfoundland and Labrador. Pictured here are brothers Harold (left) and Gladstone Guzzwell.
