St. John's Harbour, ca 1780
A painting of St. John's Harbour, looking southwest, created by an unknown
artist sometime between 1778 and 1790. In the foreground is what appears to
be a fishing vessel tied up to a wharf and fish flake for drying cod. In
the background is the admiral's flagship. Although not clearly visible in
this image, a close inspection of the painting shows the admiral's broad
pennant hoisted from the stern.
