Aboriginal Peoples: Sliding Puzzle (4x4)

The graphic used in the game below is a composite of 3 images taken from an 'Aboriginal Peoples' article entitled The Thule. Please bear in mind that these images are not in proportion to one another. If you find this puzzle a little too difficult, then please try the 3x3 sliding puzzle.

Playing Instructions:

The game starts with the graphic in its completed form. Take note of the piece in the upper left-hand corner! This piece will be removed once the tiles are shuffled.

To start the game, click 'Shuffle' or type 's' on your keyboard. This will randomize the tiles diplay the game playing area in a different order. The object of the game now is to restore the original graphic by rearranging the tiles.

There are two ways you can move tiles in the playing area: click a tile which is next to an empty space or use the arrow keys on your keyboard. Once you have all the pieces in their proper places, the blank tile should be in the upper left-hand corner. At this point, the final piece of the puzzle will fall into place and you will have completed the sliding puzzle.

At any time, you can solve the puzzle by clicking 'Solve' or typing 'v' on your keyboard. Also, you may wish to shuffle the tiles a few times until you get an arrangement which looks promising

Helpful Hints:

Since the missing piece is located in the upper left-hand corner, a good rule of thumb is to start completing the graphic at the bottom and work your way up. If you complete all rows except the top one, and these remaining pieces do not fall into place, it may be easier to begin again instead of trying to rearrange the rows.

Please Note:

The game loads necessary sound effects as they are needed. If you notice a momentary pause, it merely means that the game is loading one of the small sound files. (Sound files range from 2-3 Kb in size).
