Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville, ca. 1702.
D'Iberville was a soldier from Québec, who led Canadian and Native forces in support of
the French assaults on English settlements in the winter of 1696-97. After de Brouillan
returned to Plaisance, d'Iberville continued north to burn and loot major English settlements.
Only Carbonear Island and Bonavista were spared.
