Amelia Earhart at Harbour Grace, 20 May 1932
American aviator Amelia Earhart completed the world's first transatlantic solo flight by a woman after taking off from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador on 20 May 1932 and landing at Northern Ireland about 13 hours and 30 minutes later.
