69-2 Before the coaker engine was used in motor boats, the engines which were used were
quite noisy and one could hear it for miles. With the introduction of the coaker engine
the engine was a quiet 'chuck, chuck, chuck.' 1978 Evening Telegram 6 May, p. 6 I
heard the doctor's boat leave the harbour. We kids knew the sound of all the engines in
the place, especially the old 'Coaker.'
