   1987 Evening Telegram 27 Apr, p. 7 [tape transcript] [The seal skinners] wore a barbel (barvel) made out of calfskin with the fur inside. There was no heat in the building where we were skinning the pelts so when your hands got cold you just put them inside the barbel so they'd get warm.
