part of an underseas 'bank' or 'ground' forming the sharp boundary between shoal and deep
water and frequented by ground-fish. 1983 Gazetteer of Canada:
Nfld 52 Edge of Ground. 1986 FELTHAM 54 There were 'edges' running for miles that
was the dividing line of deep and shallow water. The fisherman had to be able to set his
gear precisely along such edges simply by knowing the cross-bearings of every point along
their length.
