   1909 BROWNE 274 The Esquimaux dog is usually of a mottled black and white colour; but sometimes of a tawny yellowish hue (duckedy-mud colour, it is termed by Newfoundland fishermen). C 71-107 ~ a dark brown colour. P 108-76 Duckety-mud was a favourite colour used by children when they played games such as Colours, etc, and also used facetiously: 'What colour is your new coat?' 'Oh, duckety-mud.'
