   1981 SPARKES xiii [Snowshoes] were made of a frame of tough birch saplings and 'filled' with deerskin cut into fine strips called babiche. 1985 Decks Awash Jan-Feb, p. 25 The tail and head webbing was called tibish and the middle rawhide was called vabish.
