   1942 Grand Bank U C School 34 [A] course bag is a canvas cylinder with a wooden bottom. [There are] eleven square wooden blocks, with eleven points of the compass on them. A man from each dory put in his hand and drew out a block. The course that was on that block was the course that man's dory had to go from the ship, to put out its trawls.
