probably they exist still—cheap candies, flat and heart-shaped, on which were 'Be
Mine,' 'I Love You,' etc. I think they were of different colours—white, pink,
yellow. 'Five cents worth of Conversations, please.' 1973 BARBOUR 32-3 [At the annual
Sunday school picnic] scrambling for candy took place... Some of the candy would be what
was called 'conversation Sweets,' round and flat and of various colours. On these would
be printed 'I love you,' 'Be my sweetheart' and 'You're my pal.'
