	Anti-Confederate Side Your name for this activity is JOHN TAYLOR. You oppose Confederation with Canada. You do NOT want Newfoundland to become Canada's tenth province. These are the arguments you use: We don't want Confederation with Canada. If we join Canada, all sorts of Canadian shops will move in here. Canadian businesses will move in. They'll provide too much competition for our own Newfoundland businesses. We'll be swamped by Canadian stores like Eaton's and Simpson's. Our own Newfoundland merchants will be put out of business-shut down by the Canadians. We certainly don't want that! And there's more. If we join Canada, thousands of our young people will leave Newfoundland to find jobs in Canada. I don't want my sons and daughters living so far away. I want them here. So we must defeat Confederation.
