	Pro-Confederate Side Your name for this activity is RICHARD POOLE. You support Confederation. You WANT Newfoundland to become Canada's tenth province. These are the arguments you use: You've heard those people who say, "Vote against Confederation. We'll get a good deal for Newfoundland with the United States." Do you know something? That's baloney. The Americans aren't interested in Newfoundland. They don't want to pay our way for us, take over our debt, and help us out. They have their own problems and they don't want to add Newfoundland to their list. So forget about making a deal with the U.S. There is no deal. I'll tell you something else. There's no deal with Britain either. The British haven't got the money to help us. We'll get nothing from Britain or the U.S. Only the Canadians are willing and able to help Newfoundland. So, we'd better get busy and vote yes to Confederation.
