Recognize Anything?
From the files of The Gazette June 17, 1999.
The Centre for Newfoundland Studies Archives in the Queen Elizabeth II Library has a number of
photographs which are not identified. Included here are several images of Newfoundland people,
buildings and communities, most of which were taken around the turn of the century. It is hoped that
readers of the Gazette will be able to identify some of these images. If you can, please let me know by
(e-mail: briggs@morgan.ucs.mun.ca), (fax: 709-737-4074), (telephone: 709-737- 4349), or (surface
mail: c/o Centre for Newfoundland Studies, Memorial University, St. John's, NF, A1B 3Y1). Or why
not deliver your answers in person by visiting the archives in the basement of the Queen Elizabeth II
Library? There are many other photographic images there that you may help us to identify.
