13 March, 1647. Richard Russell of Charlestown [Massachusetts], merchant, for value £ 230, already received, hath sold unto John Bodington, merchant, one small bark, about forty tons, called the HOPEWELL of New England, with all the masts, cables, sails, anchors, etc., warranting the sale thereof according to the law of Oleron, as appeared by a deed dated 10th of November, 1646, presented to me by John Bodington [agent for Sir David Kirke].
