Comb swinging bunk: section of a

T 100/1-64 On the front
sleigh of the two bob-sleds was what they used to call a swingin' bunk. That bunk was
bolted down with a bolt and whichever way the slide moved it slew one way or the other
but this bunk'd stay straight.
swinging chair: infant's
chair suspended by a rope from above.
P 269-64 ~ a hand-made
wooden chair, with a bar of wood across front to keep baby in. Made of small pieces of
wood held together by a line passing through four corners of the chair and knotted under
the seat. Chair is suspended from ceiling by the lines through the corners, and baby
placed in chair.
swinging gear: horse's harness used to
pull a sled without shafts.
T 43/8-64 They usen't to use any
shafts on the bobsleds them times. 'Twas what was known as swingin' gear, and you get
your load on the bob-sled and of course the rear end would be draggin' on the ground.
swinging rope: length of line attached to various types of
fish-net, etc; STRAY-LINE, SWINGLINE.
M 68-7 ~ rope tied from the
buoy to the bank line (rode). This piece of rope was in length of approximately three or
four fathoms.
