the Labrador. If they pick some berth and settle down, they're called 'stationers,'

Our crew was the same as the year previous, nine men and two girls, and we took along the
same number of crews from Conception Harbour who were bound for Splitting Knife,
Labrador. These people were what we called 'squatters.'
