town for week-end or holiday use; cabin.

summer months. 'We're going in to the shack for the holiday.' 1975 GUY 19 Newfoundlanders
have a great fondness for shacks. A great profusion of them is maintained in all parts.
Those with grander notions call them summer cottages or even lodges but the most common
term is still 'a shack in the country.'
