The Base Hospital at Fort Pepperell in St. John's
When the American forces left St. John's, this modern facility was turned over to the Newfoundland government and became the Charles A. Janeway Child Health Centre. The Janeway Children's Hospital, as it was known, operated until 2001 when a new Janeway Child Health Centre opened, attached to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's. The “old Janeway” building was demolished in 2008.
