Sir Herbert Harley Murray (1829-1904), n.d.

Governor of Newfoundland from 1895-1898. He was critical of the '98 Contract that sold the Newfoundland railway to R.G. Reid and refused to sign the enabling legislation until directed to do so by the British Colonial Office.
