Crab nets, 2007
Newfoundland and Labrador's crab, shrimp, and other shellfisheries have grown in importance since the 1992 cod moratorium. The provincial Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture reported $478 million in total fish landings for 2007, of which shellfish accounted for $383 million.
