Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador
Project: Colonial Building: "If These Walls Could Talk"

The mandate of the Provincial Archives is to collect, preserve and make available all records from the government and private sources which have any bearing on the history of the province.

The Provincial Archives is the proud occupier of the Colonial Building; along with co-operative organizations such as the Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives (ANLA), the Newfoundland Historical Society, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Archives.

In Summer 1997 the Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Web Site Project and PANL collaborated on the creation of a web version of the pamphlet: "If These Walls Could Talk". The pamphlet was based on an exhibition on the history of the Colonial Building held by the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL). The exhibition was curated by Patti Ryan and presented at the Colonial Building in Fall 1997. Excerpts and photos appear on the site courtesy of PANL.
