On the application of The Very Reverend C.F. Cazeau for the usual grant in aid of the Indians of the Lower St Lawrence and the report of the Indian Department thereon.

The assistant Commissioner of Crown Lands suggests that as the Indian Department is now under the control of the Provincial Government, an Order in Council be passed sanctioning the appropriation of the usual sums that is $600 for the Indians and $500 for the Missionaries (the warrant for the latter amount having already issued) out of the Annual grant of £1,000 provided by the Provincial Statute 14 & 15 Vict : Cap. 106, Sec. 2, for the Indians of Lower Canada, which suggestion is concurred in by the Hon. the Attorney General for L.C. acting in the absence of the Hon.
