ORDER OF HIS MAJESTY IN COUNCIL APPROVING DRAFT
OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIR JAMES WALLACE
AS GOVERNOR AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF IN AND OVER THE ISLAND OF NEWFOUNDLAND.

Whereas there was this Day read at the Board a Letter from the Right Honorable Henry Dundas, one of His Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, transmitting the Draft of Instructions for Sir James Wallace Knt/ Governor of the Island of Newfoundland and the Islands adjacent; and it appearing that the said Draft of Instructions is drawn conformably to the Instructions given to the late Governor of the said Island. His Majesty was thereupon pleased, with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of the said Draught of Instructions, and to order, as it is hereby ordered, that the Right Honorable Henry Dundas, one of His Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, do cause the said Instructions (which are hereunto annexed) to be prepared for His Majesty's Royal Signature.
