Cool Site! I'm trying to find some information on Logy Bay, Newfoundland's history. I'm getting close. You should come and visit the Ocean Sciences Centre in Logy Bay, and book a tour to see all sorts of neat stuff like real live seals, fish, and other sea animals. Well... see ya!!

Really enjoyed your site. Both the graphics and the information. I am going to teach English as a Second Language in Japan at the end of this month and was actually wondering if you could send any relevant materials/information regarding the history of Newfoundland and Labrador to my address in Ontario. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Jennifer Locke

Almost 500,000 seals were murdered in Newfoundland last year (the largest wildlife slaughter in the world). This was government subsidized, and actually done as revenge for their self-confessed gross mismanagement of the cod industry, wiping out the stocks of cod, and then blaming the seals (the same reasoning applied in Norway). The Canadian government claims cruelty incidents are being controlled, but there is documented proof that they happen anyway, because Canada is unable or unwilling to monitor them, and particularly will not let anyone close enough to see what is really happening. What happens to anyone who protests Canada's crimes is undemocratic in the extreme: he is terrorized. .... Canadian government officials who support the seal hunt ... have acquired a taste for committing atrocities, they become increasingly more difficult to control. The real issue that should be addressed here is really the most vital: the gradual erosion and destruction of an ecosystem which has taken three billion years to evolve. The whales and seals regardless of their numbers are there for a vital reason in the ecological system; they were not put there by "God" to be systematically slaughtered by man. .... Paul Watson, who isn't much liked by Canada/NewFoundland, is a courageous and rare individual trying (perhaps hopelessly) to do something about the impending destruction of this world and the human race. How does a building get designated a heritage structure? I am thinking in particular of the home located at the corner of Otterbury Road and the Main Highway in Clarke's Beach which has fallen into shameful disrepair over the years. I have already spoken with Shane O'Dea on the matter but I want to bring it to the attention of as many people as possible. It's a beautiful old home, a real jewel in the Conception Bay North area. I encourage anyone interested in architecture or heritage buidlings to make the trip and have a look before it completely deteriorates. You can't miss it, the style is unique and the colours are very engaging. It was quite an eye catcher just a few years ago, but unfortunatley has lost a lot of it's former glory. If anyone else feels the same way I encourage them to speak out, as I know I will be doing. Great website by the way!

I found your site most interesting, in particular Adam Mouland's House. Do you have any further information about Adam Mouland? I have been researching the family tree for several years so I am always pleased to receive any new information.
