Interpretation Centre
The Interpretation Centre houses interpretive exhibits
featuring artifacts dating from the 16th century.
Examples include cannonballs, arrow points,
padlocks, gold rings, keys, clay pipes, a gravestone, a gold spur,
pottery, coins, and much more . . . |

Archaeological Dig
The dig consists of six sites uncovering the remains of the
English colony founded in 1621 by Sir George Calvert, who later
became the first Lord Baltimore. Visitors can view
archaeologists and the field crew as they uncover legacies of the past.

Conservation Laboratory
Visitors can watch the Conservator piecing artifact sherds together and
gain a full understanding of the conservation and preservation of artifacts.

Gift Shop
Uniquely decorated with old furniture on loan to the Foundation from
local residents. The shop carries a wide range of gifts produced by local
craftspeople, as well as replicas of 17th-century North Devon
pottery, a sgraffito bowl and 17th-century dolls. |
The Gardens
Kitchen Garden A reduced scale reproduction of the 17th century kitchen garden.
Herb Garden A small garden containing plants grown as herbs and medicinals in the 17th century
Gentleman's Garden The largest of the three gardens, the Gentleman's Garden contains plants which
duplicate the now-rare varieties that were favoured by 17th century gentry. |

Living History
A reproduction of a period from the early 17th century, the room contains a working fireplace,
authentic doors and windows, a flagstone floor and other details typical of the era. Demonstrations
of life in the 17th century take place daily. |
